by setting clear objectives and high standards
TITAN Zlatna Panega has supported the Summer START Academy in Brestnitsa for the third consecutive year
05.08.2024This year's edition of the academy took place from July 1 to 19 at the local "Hristo Botev" Primary School. Nearly 35 students from first to seventh grade had the opportunity to catch up on missed lessons from the school year, develop valuable new skills, and explore various professions. The activities were free for the eager-to-learn children and their parents.
TITAN Zlatna Panega supported the initiative for the third consecutive year in the name of a better future for the local community's children. The cause reflects the company's commitment to the holistic development of the region, which begins with the education of young people. Company representatives at the opening were Dilyan Georgiev, Head of Administrative Services and CSR, and Dimitrinka Grinko-Kapanaki, Manager of New Projects. They congratulated the students and teachers and wished them fulfilling and enjoyable summer activities.
The main focus of the academy's program was knowledge in Bulgarian language and mathematics. In addition to these, the program included activities for understanding and adopting soft skills, such as teamwork, effective communication, and emotional intelligence.
The theme of this year's edition was "Career Orientation." The focus of the activities allowed students to explore different professions and learn more about them firsthand closely. The children met with established professionals who shared about their work and inspired them to continue their education and development.
Among them were representatives from TITAN Zlatna Panega. We are proud to be a place that brings together such dedicated professionals, who serve as role models for young people. These professionals participated in the program and presented various professions at the plant:
- Katya Stoeva and Boyka Lazarova presented professions in the Chemical Laboratory,
- Hristiyan Shikov, Georgi Petkov, and Ekaterina Maslarska presented professions in the Supply Department,
- Irena Petrova and Ivanina Chulkova presented professions in the Ecology Department,
- Ina Simeonova presented professions in the Packaging, Expedition, and Cement Mills departments.
For most of the students, this was their first encounter with the fields in which our colleagues operate. Thus, the children were able to familiarize themselves with diverse opportunities in the job market and learned that the skills for one position are applicable in many other areas. In this way, our colleagues helped them build new perspectives and contributed to their worldview development.
In addition to learning about some of the work at the plant, the children also discovered what it is like to be a police officer, firefighter, and doctor, thanks to meetings organized by the academy's teachers.
"TITAN Zlatna Panega" once again happily supports the summer academy, as our company shares the values of the organizers and believes that education is key to overcoming social disparities. It is a factor for improving the standard of living in the region and providing better opportunities for subsequent professional realization. Diverse educational programs are also important for overcoming the mismatch between the knowledge and skills demanded by businesses and those that students acquire through standard approaches. The development of the local community will give young people the opportunity to seek their professional realization in the region by actively engaging them in the process of building a better common future," said Adam Frantzis, General Director of TITAN Zlatna Panega.
