TITAN Zlatna Panega inspires Teteven students to pursue the professions of the future
22.05.2025TITAN Zlatna Panega launched its inspiring Career Orientation Initiative for students in grades 10 to 12 at “Georgi Benkovski” Secondary School in Teteven during the 2024/2025 academic year. The innovative project, implemented in partnership with Teach For Bulgaria, allowed students to meet the company’s professionals. The program is designed to prepare young people for real labour market challenges through direct contact with industry experts and workplace visits.
Hands-on encounters with the professions behind industrial success
As part of the project, experts from various departments - Procurement, Chemical Laboratory, Environmental, Finance, and Human Resources - conducted monthly sessions tailored to the students’ academic profiles and interests. Nearly 20 company employees participated as guest speakers. Some of the most impactful were the personal stories of TITAN professionals who graduated from the same school. They shared why they chose to build their careers in their home region, inspiring the students and offering them a tangible vision for local professional development.
“Visits from professionals at TITAN Zlatna Panega help guide students in their career choices and show them how school knowledge can be applied in real life,” commented Lyudmila Nacheva, economics teacher at “Georgi Benkovski” Secondary School.
Experiential learning
The program culminated with a visit to the plant in TITAN Zlatna Panega, where 13 of the most engaged students explored the complete cement production process - from raw material extraction to packaging. The students learned about the company’s sustainable practices, including using alternative fuels and land rehabilitation.
“I was impressed by the scale of the plant and its high level of automation,” said Michael, a 10th-grade student. His classmate Venimira added, “Using waste as fuel helps combat pollution. It was a vivid example of circular economy.”
The program also included an interactive HR workshop offering guidance on CV writing and job applications—essential skills for any young person preparing to enter the job market.
A long-term commitment to education
TITAN Zlatna Panega has been a long-standing partner of Teach For Bulgaria, supporting teachers and students in the Lovech and Pleven regions for 13 years. In the 2025/2026 school year, the company will continue to invest in education by supporting two additional schools and the START summer academy in the village of Brestnitsa, which helps students catch up on learning gaps.
