TITAN Zlatna Panega supported the “Sweets for Garbage” initiative in the village of Brestnitsa on the occasion of Earth Day

TITAN Zlatna Panega participated in the “Sweets for Garbage” initiative in the village of Brestnitsa, Yablanitsa Municipality. The event was organized on 22 April 2025, on Earth Day, as part of the program of the professional learning community of teachers at Hristo Botev Primary School—Brestnitsa, chaired by Bilyana Milanova.

TITAN Zlatna Panega actively contributed to the successful implementation of the initiative by providing bags and protective gloves for the participants, as well as small gifts for the children who participated. The initiative for cleaning the village's main streets gathered nearly 70 participants, of whom about 50 were students. Ekaterina Shilegarska, Sustainability and Environmental Protection Manager at the company, took part in the event.

“Environmental protection and biodiversity conservation are among the strategic themes of TITAN Zlatna Panega. We have built long-standing partnerships with educational institutions in the region, and every year we involve young people in our various initiatives. With the support for the ‘Sweets for Garbage’ initiative, we encourage the development of environmental awareness in children and create a bridge between generations in the name of a cleaner and more responsible community,” said Ekaterina Shilegarska.

The name of the initiative 'Sweets for Garbage' was the idea of the teachers, who organized a competition between teams to collect the most bags of waste. The event was carried out with the participation of Yablanitsa Municipality, the mayor’s office of the village of Brestnitsa, as well as with the support of volunteers from Sofia – young people who serve as role models for the students and partners of the school.

The cleanup ended with an official award ceremony, where the children’s efforts were rewarded with sweets and a special cake made for the occasion.

TITAN Zlatna Panega is a partner of Hristo Botev Primary School not only in celebrating Earth Day. For the fourth consecutive year, the company has supported the Summer Academy in the village of Brestnitsa – an educational program that combines learning and personal skills development. The academy takes place during the summer months and gives children the opportunity to learn through experience and to develop values such as responsibility, teamwork, and leadership.
