TITAN Bulgaria has always placed health and safety at work at the top of its priorities, striving to achieve TITAN Group’s vision of a working environment free of incidents, injuries and accidents. We want all our direct and indirect employees to end their workdays as healthy as they started. Providing and sustaining a healthy and safe working environment is integral to the quality of life and well-being of our employees and the communities around our operations.

Our investments in the Zlatna Panega cement plant and all our business undertakings are aimed, above all, at improving working conditions, automating manual labor and limiting carbon, dust and noise emissions.

We carry out our activities in strict compliance with national legislation and TITAN Group’s occupational health and safety (OH&S) procedures. Our OH&S performance is continuously monitored by our OH&S Department and top management.

An integrated management system for quality, environment and occupational health and safety has been in place at the Zlatna Panega cement plant since 2009, complying with the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001and OHSAS 18001 and supporting good practice in accordance with the needs of the company.

Our efforts are focused on improving health and safety awareness and, consequently, health and safety culture among our employees and contractors. Frequent training, reminders and additional medical care programs are offered to all of them to allow for a more preventive approach to health and safety.

Projects and future plans

Zlatna Panega Cement has a long-term investment program that aims at modernizing the existing equipment and increasing the capacities of the production facilities in line with the demands of the Bulgarian market. In the period 2004 - 2010 investments of more than EUR 86 million were made in replanting and restoring the second production line for clinker, in commissioning a clinker silo with a capacity of 38 thousand tons, in the highly efficient and energy saving vertical cement mill that is the first of its kind in Bulgaria, etc. The dispatch department is equipped with a second fully automated truck loading facility, packaging and palletizing machines.
